I was asked the other night if a student could sing her verses rather than say them. She has been in Awana since she was 4 and has learned all of her verses by listening to the CDs but has always recited them until now, Book 3 of T&T. I have looked everywhere I can think to find the "official rule" regarding this and can't find anything to guide me to the right decision. I said No, verses must be said but her parents feel this is unfair and that I am being petty. That was not my intention. I was asked and had to make a decision right then. My thinking was that she needs to be able to quote verses when sharing the gospel and she can't do that singing but I've been told that I am reaching for an excuse to justify a bad decision. I want to do what's right and will gladly change my stance if I am wrong. Can you help me?
